letting go...

My sweet baby boy has begun to wean himself.  I didn't realize it would make me as sad as it has but every time he refuses to nurse my heart just aches. He is 16 months old now but I am such a huge supporter of extended breast feeding that I never imagined weaning him right now.  Here's some reasons why.
I know that this is only the beginning of learning how to let go.  I have a feeling that is going to be an area of motherhood that I'll struggle with. Thankfully he isn't too independent yet to cuddle with me and give me kisses.  My heart will really break when that day comes.

I have need sad when each of my four children weaned! It is such a special experience and it is sad to watch it go. But thats what kiddos do, they grow and change and us moms have to learn to let go! Good luck with that.

It's horrible when they wean :( my last boy weaned around the same age.

He's starting to nurse a little more! :) Hopefully my sister was right and it was just a nursing strike!
