{you're going to miss this}

Just in case anyone ever wonders what a mom does all day and thinks we sit around sipping tea, reading the latest issue of Martha Stewart while our children play quietly together....by 9:00 this morning I had changed 3 diapers,  made breakfast, washed two loads of laundry & one very full sink of dishes, cleaned up a nice puddle of pee on the kitchen floor because someone insists on being naked all the time now, took out the trash & recycled, played horsey, nursed the baby back to sleep and came out to find my toddler drawing with a pen all over the couch but being thankful that he didn't have time to get the eggs out of the refrigerator and crack them all over the rug like he likes to do.
All morning long (to keep myself going & sane) I kept repeating, "you're going to miss this...you're going to miss this!"  Indeed I will miss it one day, puddles of pee and all.  I just hope that I'll be sitting on the beach somewhere while missing it!

the mother of invention

Moms amaze me sometimes.  Not only do we wipe butts, dry tears, kiss boo boos, cook meals, snuggle, bathe, read stories and entertain our children all in a days work we can come up with some really cool inventions.  I've created dozens in my mind since becoming a mom.  Mainly ideas that make my job as a mom just a little bit easier.  I know I'm not alone here either.  Just flip through a One Step Ahead catalog and you will see tons of mom created products.  I wanted to share the latest mama invention I've come across.  It's genius and something you can easily do yourself to help with breast milk storage issues.

Style + Function {Kelly Moore Bags}

I'm looking to simplify my life these days.  With a very active toddler and a new baby who will be here in 4 weeks or less I'm looking for anything that can help me do this.

Yesterday as I juggled my purse, camera bag and Bishop's backpack a thought occurred to me...wouldn't it be great if I could combine all these bags into one?! I didn't even know if such a bag existed so I sent out a tweet asking for recommendations and was so excited when Krystina responded with a link to Kelly Moore Bags.

These bags are suitable for professional photographers, which I'm so not but I am a very camera happy mama who hates to leave the house without my Canon Rebel.  The thought of missing a great photo opp because I didn't have enough hands to juggle my camera bag pains me...seriously.  Because I am not a professional and don't need to tote around extra lens these bags are perfect for me too.  I can just add diapers and sippy cups in their place!

They have several different styles and fun colors to choose from and for even more function they come with two different straps that allow you to wear them as a messenger bag if you like.  My personal favorite is the b-hobo bag in mustard. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these bad boys and get organized before I'm out numbered by little ones!

more important

Remember this post from a couple weeks ago when I told you about Sarah Jane Studios? She has a great quote on her blog that she generously allows her readers to download for free.  I have it up in my office and it reminds me everyday of what is really important in life.  There will always be emails to send or laundry to fold but there won’t always be a sweet little face looking up at me wanting me to play.  Sniff sniff…
