The Coconut Challenge
Calie over at The Broccoli Cupcake has started a challenge for her readers and since I rarely say no to a challenge I am accepting it! I had just read an interesting article by Dr. Mercola on coconut oil boosting metabolism, aiding in weight loss, promoting a healthy heart and providing energy so I was very excited to start the challenge.
The coconut challenge is a 30 day challenge where you incorporate 4 tablespoons of coconut oil into your diet daily. You can do this by cooking with it or making a smoothie like I did. Another part of the challenge is to use the oil on your skin in place of moisturizer. I have been doing this for awhile already and can attest to how great it is when used topically. It is also said to be an effective natural sunscreen after regular use. The benefits of coconut oil go on and on!

my coconut oil smoothie recipe:
3 Tblsp virign cold pressed organic coconut oil
1 Tblsp flax meal
1/2 cup organic milk
1/2 cup mixed frozen organic berries
1 organic banana
handful of ice
~Blend well, pour & enjoy!

Yummy! I might have to pick some coconut oil up!
Hi, I just started to use Organic Coconut oil on my skin and hair... It is really great. I had no idea that it is a natural sunscreen. Glad to find out about that. I have also started to cook with it. I will look into the "challenge"
