Lyric + Penelope = precious little pen pals

Meet Penelope.  She is Lyric's pen pal.  Yes you read that right my 2 month old has a pen pal. :)  I read about the idea of tiny pen pals from one of my favorite blogs, Dear Baby. I thought it was such a cute idea that Lyric must have a pen pal!  I had one growing up from my Grandmother's home town and I loved getting letters and pictures from her and seeing her when we'd go up for the summer.  How can I deprive my little girl of that even if she is only 2 months old?!
A short while after Lyric was born I came across Kristen's blog, Peace, Love & Crafts, and saw that she had just given birth to her own sweet baby girl only 4 days before Lyric. I knew immediately that her cutie patootie baby would be the perfect pen pal for Lyric.  After I got to know Kristen a bit from our blogs I popped the question, "would Penelope be Lyric's pen pal?"  fortunately she didn't think I was a weirdo and she said yes!  Kristen is super fun so I knew she'd be up for it.

So some precious little pen pals were born.  What do two month old pen pals do you ask?  Well they write to each and discuss important issues like world hunger and the war in the Middle East.  Just kidding...Kristen and I send each other little notes and gifts from them to each other.  Penelope was even sweet enough to send us some emergen-c packets when we were sick a couple weeks ago but sadly they were confiscated by the post office.  I guess smuggling emergen-cs from Texas to Tennessee in pen pal letters is frowned upon.
I'm really excited to see their friendship blossom over time and to see them go through the same milestones. I'm looking forward to getting to know Kristen better too through our babies.  Go check out her lovely little blog Peace, Love & Crafts and see what she had to say about the pen pals.
