I'm a far cry from The Pioneer Woman but I have a couple of good recipes up my sleeve! Here's a really simple appetizer that I made for my sweetie on Valentine's Day. I actually ended up eating the majority of it so maybe it was really for myself. Oh well...cheese is my first love after all.
You will need a wheel of brie, fillo dough, honey, butter, apples or any other fruit you'd like. Pears are great too. I've also sprinkled it with brown sugar and added walnuts before. Get creative!
Unwrap brie and gently scrap off the waxy coating with a knife, cover with several sheets of fillo dough, brush with a good amount of melted butter (don't be shy), cover with sliced fruit and drizzle with honey (again don't be shy).
Place in a oven that has been preheated to 350 degrees. Bake for 20-25 minutes. I honestly can't remember how long I baked mine. I had a baby strapped on me and a toddler pulling at my leg the whole time. I'd recommend checking it at about 20 minutes. Cut into it and make sure cheese is melted.
Serve warm with water crackers. Enjoy!
*Sorry for the terrible pictures. I am trying to learn about aperture from The Pioneer Woman's tutorials but I can only take in about a sentence at a time before wanting to pull my hair out so please be patient with me.
