Jamie Oliver isn't the only one starting a food revolution! Brooklyn film makers and environmental advocators, Ian Cheney and Curt Ellis, are on a mission too. They transformed an old Dodge pickup truck into a traveling farm. From it they started a 20 member CSA (community supported agriculture) and are creating a documentary about urban agriculture.
This month they are taking their truck farm to universities and elementary schools in the Northeast to get kids engaged and excited about growing their own food and eating from local farms. They are also hoping to encourage some changes in school food systems by adding locally grown ingredients to it's menu and creating campus gardens.
I love how creative this project is! What kid wouldn't think a farm on four wheels is cool? You can check out their project's fundraising efforts below or go to the Truck Farm website for more information.
